Glo Nigeria Online Recharge Service on Halt as Quickteller Removes Payment Code

 The Globacom online recharge service has been on halt since early hours of 21st of February 2015.
Investigation by Nigeria Telecom News reveals that the GLO payment code  "91309" was removed from Quickteller. (Due to an assumed technical glitch or upgrade)


 Due to this situation, all Bank Application, ATM and recharge platforms have been deducting users funds without recharging their Globacom mobile line.
 We gathered some of users complains whose money were deduction but line not credited, (via Twitter and Instagram) which can be viewed below.

 We assume Technical team at Quickteller and Globacom are presently working on the issue.
Though this happened on a weekend, attempts to get official statement on the incident from Quickteller and Glo officials proved abortive as at the time of writing.

 We implore everyone trying to recharge their Glo lines to wait till the issue is rectified, or buy physical recharge vouchers around their environs.

Hopefully the service would be back in a timely manner.

MTN Nigeria celebrates 13th anniversary with FREE DATA



Nigerian mobile operator MTN is celebrating 13 years of operations in Nigeria, offering users of its data services 100 per cent extra data.
Under the offer, a subscriber that buys a data bundle will receive the same amount for free; for example, a user purchasing the network’s 3 gigabyte (GB) data bundle will receive a total of 6 GB.
While subscribers can only use the bundle purchased between 9pm and 6am, the extra data can be used anytime of day; and will be valid for a 30-day period.
The latest offer was communicated to subscribers via SMS.

Launched in 2001, MTN now has over 55 million subscribers in Nigeria, providing voice, data and business solutions to Nigerians.

ETISALAT AMBASSADOR, HAFEEZ AYETORO AKA SAKA, SWITCHES TO MTN


Hafeez Ayetoro, ace comedian and Nollywood actor, who has become the face of Etisalat for some years now, has switched network from the GSM company he was known with, to telecom giants MTN.
 It will be recalled that Hafeez’s face became a part of Etisalat branding for years, but NigeriaTelecomNews can authoritatively inform you that the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education lecturer, was given an irresistible amount of money (N20M) to switch allegiance.

MTN just commenced their television commercial for the recently activated Number Portability Scheme with Saka excitedly announcing he has ‘upgraded’ to MTN.
The ad starts with Saka dressed in green traditional attire only to transform into a bright yellow attire as he leads a music band.
