As GSM mobile services hits 10 years of existence in Nigeria this week, President Goodluck Jonathan speaks on Facebook and we quote:
" As we mark ten years of GSM mobile services this week, it is heartening that Nigeria has grown from less than a million lines to over 90 million lines with 70% of Nigerians having access to phones.
It cost 150,000 Naira to get connected before 2001. Today it takes 100 Naira.
This result came about from the liberalization of the communication sector which is what this administration plans to replicate in the power sector with the Roadmap to Power Sector Reforms. GEJ"
