MTN NIGERIA SELECTS ZTE TO UPGRADE AND EXPAND ITS 2G/3G NETWORKS IN NIGERIA

ZTE says that it has signed a contract with the MTN Nigeria to upgrade and expand its GSM/UMTS networks in Nigeria.

As part of the agreement, ZTE will help MTN Nigeria modernize and expand its mobile network in two of the country's most economically developed regions (including 8 states) by providing its SDR-based Uni-RAN solution.

ZTE claims that network operating expenses can be reduced by more than 50 per cent and the total cost of ownership saving over 7 years will be reach 40 per cent after modernization.

"ZTE will provide a seamless cutting-edge network solution to MTN, The company will continue to strive to improve the quality of the Nigerian network." said ZTE VP Xu Ming.
